Got Backpain?Chiropractic
Although the perception of Chiropractic today is about back pain, neck pain and headaches, originally, it was much deeper.  Chiropractic care, as it began was about health and healing, which came from the nerve system.  In the early 1920's, Chiropractors were called the "Flu Doctors" because people would get adjusted and not get the flu, or, if people had the flu, it would go away faster.  There is an important distinction here that Chiropractic treats nothing.  The job of Chiropractic is to locate and remove nerve system interference, and the body heals itself.

As a Cerritos, Anaheim, Los Angeles and surrounding Southern California area Chiropractor, early on I would examine and x-ray a person, visualize spinal misalignment and then put them through a course of care.  After this, re-examine and re-x-ray and I would find no change in the alignment of the spine.  This didn't sit well with me.  I then began my quest to find out why.  Once a person receives an adjustment, what keeps and maintains the spine in proper alignment?

Please see Applied Spinal Biomechanical Engineering and Biocranial for the answers!

An adjustment is moving the right bones in the right direction.  This is very specific, and requires x-rays to determine all vectors (directions) for proper re-alignment.
